our journey, our impact
Wigan Youth Zone is more than just a building…
It’s a movement powered by young people, staff, volunteers, and a community that believes in the potential of the next generation.
Since opening our doors, our journey has been shaped by the voices and experiences of thousands of young people who’ve walked through them. Every milestone we reach reflects our growth, resilience, and ambition. Our impact is seen in brighter futures, stronger communities, and lives transformed through opportunity, support, and belief. Guided by our vision and values, we continue to evolve, creating a space where young people feel safe, heard, and inspired to thrive.
We believe all young people deserve the opportunity to shine. But opportunity is about more than bricks and mortar, sports halls and music studios. The amazing equipment in our Youth Zones is essential, but their real impact comes from the life-changing youth work that is at the heart of everything we do.
Reflecting on a Year of Growth, Resilience and Impact
2025/26 has been a year of resilience, progress and meaningful impact.
At Wigan Youth Zone, we continue to stand by young people, listening to their voices and creating opportunities that change lives. As we move forward with our Three-Year Strategy, developed in partnership with young people, staff, Trustees and our wider community, we are bringing our vision and values to life through action.
In a time of increasing challenges, from mental health pressures to the lasting impact of the cost-of-living crisis, our commitment to providing safe, inclusive and inspiring spaces has never been more important. Through the power of first-class youth work, we are not only supporting young people to navigate these challenges, but helping them to thrive.
We are proud of the progress we’ve made, the strength of our partnerships, and the impact we continue to deliver across our borough. None of this would be possible without the ongoing support of our community.
As always, everything we do is driven by one constant: putting young people at the heart of it all.
