Lynsey's Journey

Lynsey has been part of the WYZ team for almost 5 years and has made an invaluable impact on the charity in that time.
Year after year, she tirelessly raises the crucial funds necessary to support our plan for sustainability. But her dedication doesn’t stop there! Lynsey fearlessly dives into action, whether it’s running 10ks for fundraising, donning an elf costume for our Family Christmas Meal, or generously volunteering as a mentor to provide 1-on-1 support to young people.

“In June 2022, I decided to enrol on a year-long Diploma course with the Chartered Institute of Fundraising to gain a recognised qualification in Fundraising Management. To enhance my fundraising skills, I need to learn more about team management and how to enhance the experience of those who support us. It has been an incredible experience; I have met some truly outstanding fundraisers from all over the country along the way, all exceptional in their roles.”

“I am pleased to say I completed the course in December of last year; as we say in Wigan, ‘I was a little bit proud of myself’. I couldn’t have achieved this without the ongoing support of Wigan Youth Zone, who were behind me all the way. I truly love what I do, and I cannot wait to put my new skills to good use and help the amazing team here at our charity keep on supporting the young people of Wigan and Leigh long into the future.”
