HOW WE MADE IT happen

Besides the old Wigan Boys Club, the other club to influence the new Wigan Youth Zone is Bolton Lads and Girls Club. Bolton Lads and Girls Club was established in 1889 and is one of the few clubs in the country to have more than a century of unbroken service for young people.

The club prospered in the 1980s and gained a reputation for delivering great new ways of working with young people, particularly those facing some kind of disadvantage.
