Inspiring Stories: Michaela’s Journey

“This year’s Charity Ball was a true reflection of what makes Wigan Borough so special: its people. To see hundreds of individuals and businesses come together with such passion and generosity is incredibly powerful. Raising over £65,000 means we can continue to provide life‑changing opportunities for thousands of young people, helping them build confidence, skills, and brighter futures. We are so grateful to everyone who played a part in making the evening such a success.”
Anthony Ashworth-Steen, CEO at Wigan Youth Zone
“The support we received for this year’s Charity Ball has been nothing short of phenomenal. Every ticket bought, every bid placed, and every pledge made will directly impact young people who need us most. Our employability programmes are transforming lives, and this funding ensures we can continue opening doors to education, training, and careers. We simply couldn’t do this without our incredible supporters and partners.”

A Tribute to Vicky Evans
This year’s Charity Ball was dedicated to the memory of Vicky Evans, a much‑loved youth worker at Wigan Youth Zone who sadly passed away unexpectedly in February. Her warmth, passion, and commitment to young people were felt throughout the evening, making the event an especially meaningful tribute.
