A key area of need is encouraging greater participation in cultural activities which grow social and emotional wellbeing and appeal to the widest possible range of young people.
Music; accessible and fun sessions give young people access to our fully equipped recording studio, a range of professional instruments, music editing software/hardware, radio-station and record label and much more. Proven to attract young people with more challenges the focus is on developing new skills usually culminating in a song/performance.
Dance and drama; a diverse mixture of dance lessons are delivered from our full-size dance studio, recent examples including tap/contemporary/street/lyrical dance, cheerleading, choreography, ‘ConfiDance’ quiet sessions which improve self-esteem/confidence, yoga challenges etc. Live performances are a regular feature of this provision.
Creative arts; a multi-disciplinary offer particularly well attended by girls/young women, ranging from drawing/painting, tie-dying, to a fully-equipped clay studio with kiln. The offer includes targeted groups such as young people that don’t attend mainstream schools.
Inclusion; a floating team that supports each department to be accessible to children and young people with SEND. They also offer targeted sessions such as baking, karaoke sessions, and sensory activities.
