Wigan to Paris Charity Challenge for Wigan Youth Zone
Back in January, I was sitting at work on a Saturday morning, scrolling through Facebook, when I came across a post about a charity run my uncle and his dad organised 25 years ago, from John O’Groats to Land’s End. Instantly, I felt inspired. I knew I wanted to take on a challenge of my own.
By the end of that weekend, the idea had already turned into a plan and The Long Run for Little Heroes was born.
A Wigan to Paris Charity Run
This June, 10 local lads from Wigan will attempt to run from Wigan to Paris in just four days. This incredible endurance challenge will test us in every way possible, from long-distance running and unpredictable weather to sleep deprivation and mental resilience.
Taking on a challenge like this isn’t just about fitness, it’s about determination, teamwork, and pushing beyond your limits. We know it won’t be easy, but that’s exactly what makes it worthwhile.
Supporting Wigan Youth Zone
Choosing to support Wigan Youth Zone was an easy decision. The charity plays a vital role in supporting young people across Wigan by providing:
- A safe and welcoming environment
- Opportunities for personal development
- Access to support, mentoring, and activities
We wanted this challenge to be about more than just running—it’s about giving back to the local community and supporting a cause that makes a real difference to young people’s lives.
Follow Our Charity Journey
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing our full journey across social media, including:
- Training and preparation updates
- Fundraising activities and events
- Behind-the-scenes moments from the run
- Daily progress from Wigan to Paris
We know there will be tough moments and plenty of unknowns along the way, but every mile we run will help raise awareness and funds for an incredible local charity.
How You Can Support
We’d love for the community to get involved and support us on this journey. Whether it’s through donations, sharing our story, or cheering us on, every bit of support makes a difference.
Together, we can help Wigan Youth Zone continue its amazing work and create more opportunities for young people across Wigan.
Because every mile really does make a difference.
