Wigan Youth Zone proudly welcomes Golden Days Garden Centre Wigan as its newest Silver Patron. This partnership strengthens our mission to help young people across Wigan and Leigh grow, thrive, and succeed.
Golden Days Garden Centre Wigan – A Family Business Rooted in Community
Golden Days Garden Centre is a family-owned UK business with over 30 years of experience in home and garden improvement. With award-winning garden centres in Wigan and Cheadle, it attracts thousands of loyal customers each year.
The Wigan branch is especially loved for its wide choice of outdoor living products. In addition, Golden Days has grown into one of the country’s leading suppliers of artificial Christmas trees.
Rooted in Appley Bridge, the business values quality, family, and community. Now, by becoming a Silver Patron of Wigan Youth Zone, Golden Days is extending those values to young people across the borough.
Supporting Young People Across Wigan and Leigh
Stephen Evans, Owner of Golden Days Garden Centre Wigan, explained:
“As a family-run business rooted in Appley Bridge for over 25 years, we’re proud to support Wigan Youth Zone as a Silver Patron. Just like plants, young people need the right environment, encouragement, and care to thrive. By backing the incredible work of Wigan Youth Zone, we’re helping to nurture the next generation and ensure they blossom into their full potential.”
This new partnership places Golden Days among a growing group of businesses and individuals committed to making a real difference. Furthermore, their support will help sustain essential services such as mentoring, life skills training, sports, creative arts, and wellbeing programmes.
The impact of Wigan Youth Zone
The impact of Wigan Youth Zone continues to increase year after year. For example:
Over 54,390 visits from young people in one year
More than 15,000 free meals provided
A 12% rise in support for young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
Consequently, the need for community support remains stronger than ever.
David Castle, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Wigan Youth Zone, added:
“We’re delighted to welcome Golden Days Garden Centre as a Silver Patron. Their community-first approach and commitment to helping young people grow aligns perfectly with our values. With their support, we can continue offering life-changing opportunities that empower young people across Wigan and Leigh to flourish.”
How Silver Patrons make a difference
As a Silver Patron, Golden Days Garden Centre Wigan will help Wigan Youth Zone reach more than 5,000 members aged 8–19 (up to 25 with additional needs). Moreover, the centre opens seven days a week, all year round, ensuring young people always have a safe and inspiring place to go.
