YOUNG LEADERS
If you are between 14 and 17 years old and want to do something positive and rewarding in your spare time, why not become a Wigan Youth Zone Young Leader.
Being a Young Leader is an exciting opportunity to have fun and gain new skills. Wigan Youth Zone Young Leaders develop skills such as communication, organisation, leadership and teamwork as well as gain confidence and meet new people.
Young Leaders play a key role in supporting our Junior and Holiday Clubs working with children between the ages of 8 and 11 years old. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what to do, as full training is provided.
As a Young Leader, you will also have the opportunity to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. The Bronze Award is offered to all our Young Leaders but we strongly recommend it for 14 and 15 year olds. It is a real adventure involving a personal programme involving four elements: physical, skills, volunteering (use your Young Leader role) and residential.
