On Wednesday 15th October, from 11am–2pm, Wigan Youth Zone is bringing back the Building Connections Careers Fair for a second year. And it’s set to be even bigger and better.
In partnership with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and UK Youth, the event connects young people aged 16–25 with employers, training providers, and real opportunities. Whether you’re looking for your first job, exploring a new direction, or eager to support the next generation, this day is all about meaningful connections.
Explore, Connect, Take the Next Step
This isn’t just another careers fair. It’s your chance to meet 50+ businesses and training providers, hear real advice, and discover what your future could look like. From local employers to national organisations, the room will be packed with people who want to support you.
And it’s not all talking – the event includes free football, games, a 360 photo booth to capture the moment and even a free ice cream for all attendees.
You’ll also have the chance to hear from UK Youth and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners. They will be leading inspiring talks on career journeys, confidence, and unlocking opportunities.
Here are just a few of the organisations attending:
- Attain (Web Design and Digital Marketing)
- Curious Mind (Arts/Charity)
- Natwest (Banking)
- Mac Construction (Construction)
- Wigan Athletic Community Trust (Sport/Charity)
- Wigan & Leigh College (Education)
- Wigan Council (Local Government)
It’s totally free, there’s no need to be a Youth Zone member, and you’re welcome to bring guests of any age.
Why It Matters
Last year’s event proved just how powerful face-to-face connections can be. Young people left with renewed confidence, clearer goals, and real next steps. Businesses walked away inspired by the talent and potential in the room.
With support from UK Youth and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners, and the energy of Wigan Youth Zone behind it, this year’s fair is a real opportunity to build a stronger future for individuals, employers, and the whole community.
The impact of real connection
