Axon Moore, a leading financial recruitment consultancy based in Manchester, announces that Wigan Youth Zone is now a brand new charity partner. The partnership will celebrate the achievements of Wigan Youth Zone in its decennial anniversary year and see both organisations support each other’s work whilst raising the aspirations of young people in Wigan and Leigh.
Based on Parsons Walk, opposite Wigan and Leigh College, Wigan Youth Zone’s vision is for every young person within the borough to be happy, healthy, and thrive within their community. By always putting young people first, they combine high-quality youth work with inspiring activities in an inclusive, safe space.
Lynsey Kendal Head of Fundraising said:
“Having Axon Moore choose Wigan Youth Zone as one of their new charity partner is an honour, and we are very grateful for the support and partnership they offer.
“In our 10th year, our focus is on Wigan Youth Zones’ future, ensuring that we can keep our doors open for the next generation of young people in the Wigan and Leigh borough. To do this, Wigan Youth Zone needs friends and support from the local community, gaining new connections and sharing the knowledge and opportunities that the Youth Zone can bring to local young people.”

Dan Calland, Associate Director at Axon Moore, said:
“Axon Moore has been involved in Wigan Youth Zone for a number of years due to our presence in Lancashire along with several of our employees living in the town itself. We are delighted to support Wigan Youth Zone as they seek to provide a safe place for the young people of Wigan to gather and access a wide range of enriching resources and programs.”
“It is a fantastic charity which enables local young people to be surrounded by positive role models, be supported in their development and in some cases be mentored over a long-term period. Since its founding in 2013, Wigan Youth Zone has made a huge contribution to the local community and our team of consultants is proud to support it by finding innovative ways to fundraise and connect our network of local contacts with the charity.”
Wigan Youth Zone relies on donations and support from business investments along with kind donations from the local community. The charity [due to the cost of living crisis] now needs to raise a minimum of £2 million every year to keep its doors open, with every donation going towards helping the young people of Wigan and Leigh discover a world of possibilities and create the future they deserve.
