At Wigan Youth Zone, we take a whole-person approach to health and wellbeing. We believe it’s about more than just staying active — it’s about giving young people the tools, confidence and experiences they need to lead happy, healthy lives now and into adulthood.
Through our health and wellbeing offer, young people can:
Build their confidence and resilience
Learn how to look after their mental, emotional, social and physical health
Try new things, face challenges and have fun doing it
Discover what healthy living means for them
Develop positive habits that last into adult life
Prepare for the next steps in education, work, or even a career in sport, health or fitness
Whether it’s joining in with sports, talking to a trusted youth worker, or just finding a safe space to be themselves, every young person is supported to take ownership of their wellbeing.
And because we believe health and wellbeing is everyone’s responsibility, all of our Youth Workers play a role in helping young people grow in confidence, make informed choices and feel good about who they are.
