Juniors took the reins and shook up Wigan Youth Zone on Take Over Day!
Take Over Day at the Youth Zone was an explosion of talent and creativity as our Juniors stepped into the roles of our amazing department areas. From sports coaching to music production, social media management, and culinary delights, there was something for everyone to explore and excel in!
Under the guidance of their favourite Youth Workers, our members not only showcased their skills but also soaked up invaluable lessons and experiences, fostering new friendships along the way. It was an opportunity not just to shine but to grow – developing confidence, leadership, and communication skills with every task undertaken.
B, our stellar Duty Manager, kept things running smoothly, ensuring that the day operated like clockwork. Isaac, the Inclusion Lead, worked tirelessly to ensure everyone felt welcomed and included, creating an atmosphere where all could thrive. Myla, our Recreational Lead, brought a whirlwind of fun and activities, keeping the energy levels high throughout the day. And let’s not forget Poppy, the baking youth worker extraordinaire, who delighted everyone with her tasty new recipe!
Of course, amidst the excitement, there were moments of mischief, with some staff finding themselves in the 1-2-1 room for a disciplinary cool-off. Yet, even these moments added to the electric atmosphere, infusing the day with laughter and camaraderie.
As the day progressed, Seniors took over, stepping into the leadership roles and guiding our youth workers through the latter half of the event. Despite the challenges they faced, including a fair share of staff mischief, the seniors rose to the occasion, delivering an exciting and engaging session that kept everyone entertained and involved.
Take Over Day was not just a showcase of talent but a celebration of community, teamwork, and the boundless potential of our young people As the day came to a close, it was clear that the future of Wigan Youth Zone is in very capable hands!
